FAQ
Common questions before anyone trusts a tool with a delivery master.
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. LC-1 measures and corrects the file inside your browser. The audio stays on your computer and is never sent to us.
Does LC-1 change my original file?
Never. It prints a new file with the spec added to the name, for example my song_R128 -23LUFS.wav, then measures that new file again so you can see it passes.
How accurate is the meter?
Loudness is measured to ITU-R BS.1770 with EBU R 128 gating. True peak is measured with 4× oversampling. Tested against a leading third-party loudness meter: integrated loudness and maximum short-term 0 LU error, true peak within ±0.1 dB.
Which files can I use?
WAV and Broadcast WAV, up to 20 minutes long for now. Longer files for long form delivery are planned.
Where do the preset figures come from?
From the published delivery documents of broadcasters, standards bodies and ad delivery services. Every spec page lists its sources and the date they were last read. Every source is checked for changes each month. If you spot a figure that is wrong or out of date, tell us at support@orjo.co.uk.
What does the limiter do?
It holds true peaks under the spec's maximum. Soft, Medium and Hard set how much limiting is allowed, and you can audition each against the original before you print. It works 0.3 dB under the maximum so a file still passes on a meter that reads slightly differently.
What is free and what is paid?
Checking a file is free. Printing a corrected file needs a subscription: £19.99 a month for one user, or £79.99 a month for a facility of up to five. Prices exclude VAT or local sales tax, added at checkout.
Who takes my payment?
Paddle, a UK payments company, sells LC-1 subscriptions on our behalf as the merchant of record. Paddle charges the right VAT or sales tax for your country and issues your receipts. If you are a VAT-registered business, enter your VAT number at checkout and your invoice will show it.
How do I cancel?
In Account settings, at any time. Billing is monthly with no contract, and you keep access until the end of the month you have paid for. For a question about a payment or an invoice, email billing@orjo.co.uk.
