Hong Kong TV loudness spec
What a file has to measure to pass this spec, and where each figure comes from.
| Check | Required | In LC-1 |
|---|---|---|
| Integrated loudness | −23.0 ±1 LUFS | Fixed with a level change |
| True peak | −1.0 dBTP max | Limited, with audition |
| Max short-term | −18.0 LUFS | Flagged |
| Max short-term, items over 2 minutes | −13.0 LUFS | Flagged |
Worth knowing
The same rules cover long form and short form (adverts, promos, trailers). The short-term maximum is −18 LUFS for items up to 2 minutes and −13 LUFS for longer ones. XR and Cape still list a peak-only spec for delivery to Hong Kong.
